
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held a meeting with a number of representatives of charity and voluntary associations and initiatives on Monday.
The president hailed the important role of civil society organizations, along with the state and private sector, in contributing to improving the standard of living of citizens and instilling hope, presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said.
A special focus needs to be directed in the coming phase to developing and rehabilitating the neediest villages and areas, Sisi said.
Among the associations attending the meeting are 57357 Hospital, Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services (CEOSS), Orman Charity Association, Egyptian Food Bank, Magdi Yacoub Foundation, Vodafone Egypt Foundation for Community Development, Sawiris Foundation for Social Development, Ma'an for Developing Slums, Misr El Kheir Foundation and Association of Liver Patient Care.
The attending representatives presented the different fields they have been working in.
The president said he was giving special focus on youth issues and offering them jobs, finding effective solutions to the phenomenon of street children and providing care to people with special needs and orphans.
At the end of the meeting, Sisi ordered allotting EGP 500 million from the “Tahya Misr” Fund to efforts exerted to develop the most impoverished villages.
