
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met on Sunday with Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority Mohab Mamish as they discussed the work progress in the new Suez Canal project.
During the meeting, President Sisi ordered finalizing the project on time and in line with the international standards so as to accommodate all kinds of vessels, Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said.
The president ordered Mamish also to follow up preparations for inaugurating the new project in August and coordinate with all bodies concerned to that effect, Youssef added.
He noted that President Sisi thanked all workers in the new Suez Canal project for their strenuous efforts to finish the project according to the schedule.
Mamish, for his part, briefed the president on the dredging plan in the project as well as the latest developments of the fish farming project.
He stressed that the new Suez Canal project is a gift by the Egyptian people to the whole world.
