The Suez Canal is a symbol of the Egyptian will and the largest economic entity in the country, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority Mohab Mamish said.
About 25,000 Egyptians and no foreigners at all work in the Suez Canal, Mamish said during a meeting with a delegation of the Commercial International Bank (CIB).
Despite the political and security turbulence Egypt underwent in 2014, the Suez Canal achieved its largest ever revenue this year, more than 2013 by EGP 5 billion, he said.
