As part of the upcoming Bahrain Noor El Ain Shopping Festival activities, Tamkeen and the Southern Governorate have signed an MoU to launch the third edition of "Al-Basta Market", a pioneering initiative which provides a dedicated fully-equipped space for traders to showcase and market their goods to residents of the governorate and Bahrain.
The agreement follows the success of the first two editions of the market, which saw participation from more than 560 traders and attracted tens of thousands of people.
The third edition of the market will take place every Friday and Saturday from December 19, 2014 to March 28, 2015.
Tamkeen’s backing comes as part of its efforts to support the development of Bahrainis and enterprises in the private sector to establish it as the prime driver of economic development, in line with its strategy which focuses on enhancing quality, customer service, and achieving impact.
Its support will enable entrepreneurs and business owners of the area to grow their enterprises, as well as provide an opportunity for productive families, micro-enterprises, and SME’s to contribute to the national economy.
For its part, the market is part of the Southern Governorate’s drive to support the vision of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development launched by HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Women.
The dedicated and fully-equipped space provided by the Southern Governorate is expected to be a hub of business activity which serves as a springboard for entrepreneurs and business owners in the business and agricultural sectors.
