
Trade and Industry Minister Tarek Qabil inaugurated on Thursday TetraPak factory in Borg el Arab zone of Alexandria.
The new factory is annually producing 400 million juice packs in which 50 percent of them are allocated for export. The project's capital reaches 450 million pounds and provides 200 job opportunities.
Chairman of Faragalla Group Mohamed Farag Amer, head of Borg El Arab Investment Association, said his companies' investments in Borg el Arab reached more than 12 billion pounds with 1.7 billion pounds being invested only in the last two years.
He said exports surmounted 50 percent of output, expecting a growth rate between 13 to 15 percent this year.
During the inauguration, the minister was accompanied by Acting Alexandria Governor Soad el Kholy and head of the Industrial Development Authority Ismail Gaber.
