
The General Union of Algerian Workers (UGTA) has welcomed with great satisfaction the adoption by the Council of Ministers the bill relating to the repeal of the Article 87a of the Labour Code during the meeting chaired Tuesday by President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
"The National Secretariat of UGTA has welcomed with great satisfaction the decision made yesterday, Tuesday 26 August 2014, by the Council of Ministers for the repeal of the Article 87a," said the central union in a communiqué.
UGTA, which dubbed it "an important and courageous decision," hailed the fulfilment of the promise made by President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, adding that "this decision is in line with his commitment for workers.
On this occasion, the UGTA has reiterated deep gratitude to the Head of State and ensured him of its "mobilization and commitment to implementing his directives and supporting his efforts for the economic development of all sectors."
