Thousands of Palestinian families, whose houses were destroyed by the recent Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip, didn't receive financial assistance allotted for Gaza residents, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said on Thursday.
About 61,000 families, who are in dire need of aid, didn't get houses' rental allowances, first or second payments of repairing damaged houses or $ 500-reintegration grant pledged by UNRWA due to severe shortage in funding, the UNRWA said in a statement.
The UNRWA called on donor countries to fulfill their financial commitments to reconstructing the Gaza Strip, the statement added.
