
The works of the 5th session of the Algerian-Qatari High Joint Commission, held Sunday in Doha, culminated in the signing of 13 documents (agreement, memoranda of understanding and executive programs) on several sectors including Communication, Tourism, Sports, Youth, Education, Higher Education and Fisheries.
The signing ceremony was co-chaired by Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal, and Prime Minister, Minister of Interior of Qatar, Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani.
On this occasion, an agreement for cooperation and exchange of information was signed between Algeria Press Service "APS" and its Qatari counterpart "QNA".
The two sides also signed "an executive program in the field of tourism, the first of its kind between the two countries, as well as the second executive programs of cooperation agreements in the fields of youth and sports."
A for education, the two countries signed "the fourth executive program of cooperation in the field of Education and Sciences" and "the first cooperation program in the field of Higher Education."
"The third executive program for media agreement" was also signed on this occasion.
Regarding fisheries resources, Algeria and Qatar signed the "first executive program of cooperation in the field of fisheries and aquaculture of the MoU on fishery resources."
In the cultural field, the two parties signed the "second executive program in the cultural field of the cultural and artistic cooperation agreement", in addition to a "twinning agreement between the national libraries of the two countries" and "a memorandum of understanding in the field of water resources."
As for administration and customs, Algeria and Qatar inked a "bilateral agreement on mutual administrative assistance for a suitable application of the Customs Code and the fight against customs offenses."
Moreover, the works of the 5th High Committee culminated in the signing of a memorandum of understanding on consumer protection, economic control and the fight against commercial fraud."
