
Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Hamid Al Awadi met here on Thursday with chargé d'affaires of the British embassy in Yemen Alison Kemp.
The two officials' meeting discussed aspects of strengthening cooperation between the two friendly countries and reviewed the actions of the 3 working groups stemmed from the 7th meeting of Friends of Yemen group as well as the ongoing preparations to hold the ministerial meeting of the group in New York in September.
It also reviewed sides of existed cooperation between Yemen and the UK in cultural field and possibilities to increase the number of scholarships to the British universities, in addition to procedures related to granting visas.
Al Awadi praised the efforts exerted by the UK in co-chairing Yemen's Friends' meeting ,pointing out that Yemen is looking forward to activate the group's work especially after approving its new mechanism at London's meeting last April .
For her part ,the UK diplomat renewed the UK's commitment to support Yemen and push the Yemen group's work forwards.
