The Zayed Giving Initiative, in collaboration with several government and private institutions, has launched a number of volunteer programmes during the Holy Month of Ramadan to promote community work both locally and internationally.
The community-driven partnership aims to provide voluntary and humanitarian services to underprivileged families and spread the concept of social cohesion through various activities planned at hospitals, preventative clinics, orphanages, special needs centres, and others.
Dr. Adel Al Shamri, CEO of the Zayed Giving Initiative, said that engaging in volunteer work is a symbol of a nation's progress and symbolises its prosperity, and is an important requirement in modern life which has brought rapid development in all fields.
He added that volunteer work is in line with the directives of the UAE's wise leadership to encourage young Emiratis to adopt voluntary initiatives, both on a personal or institutional level.
