
Australia's trade deficit narrowed to 118 million AU dollars (105.6 million U.S. dollars) in November 2013, figures released on Tuesday by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) showed. The balance on goods and services was a deficit of 118 million AU dollars in November, a decrease of 240 million AU dollars (214. 4 million U.S. dollars) on the deficit in October, the ABS reported. Economists had expected a deficit of 300 million AU dollars ( 268.0 million U.S. dollars) for the month. During the month, exports of goods and services rose 94 million AU dollars (84.0 million U.S. dollars) to 27,377 million AU dollars (24,453.1 million U.S. dollars) while imports of goods and services fell 146 million AU dollars (130.4 million U.S. dollars) to 27,495 million AU dollars (24,558.5 million U.S. dollars).
