
Automobile sales in Europe rose by 6.5 percent in the first two months of the year compared to the same period in 2013, Turkey's Automotive Distributors' Association has reported.Combined sales in the EU28 and European Free Trade Association (EFTA) in the first two months of 2014 reached 2,130,556 - a 6.5 percent increase compared to the same period of last year, the association said on Thursday.During same period of last year, 1,999,876 automobiles were sold in the region.The highest increase in sales - 38.5 percent - was recorded in Portugal, with Ireland seeing 28.2 percent and Iceland 27.6 percent.Sales dropped in Norway by 4.7 percent and 3.5 percent in the Netherlands.
