Head of HRH Premier's Court Shaikh Hussam bin Isa Al Khalifa received here today the new UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative Peter Grohmann. During the meeting, Shaikh Hussam lauded the key role played by UNDP in supporting development projects across the world, reiterating Bahrain's keen interest to enhance its cooperation with UNDP and other UN bodies for the sake of backing the efforts made the International Community to achieve sustainable development. He also praised the on-going distinguished partnership between the kingdom and UNDP, noting that the government is resolved to upgrade its cooperation with UNDP and will do its utmost in order to help achieve the assigned development and progress goals. On his part, Peter Grohmann hailed the kingdom's strides regarding human and sustainable development, as well as its success in meeting the Millennium Development Goals. He also said that he was looking forward to enhancing collaboration with the kingdom through launching a number of initiatives aiming to boost national economy in all sectors.
