
The Bahraini side of the Bahraini-Russian Joint Business Council of Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry held its first meeting presided over by Chairman of the Bahraini side, Khaled Al Moayyed.
While commending the bilateral relation between Bahrain and Russia, the members on Saturday proposed boosting trade and investment between both sides, describing the current volume of trade which amounted to 138 million dollars as below aspirations.
The committee also proposed intensifying the exchange of delegations, and benefiting from the direct flights to Moscow offered by Bahrain’s national carrier "Gulf Air".
During the meeting, Jawad Al Hawaj the Vice Chairman of the Bahraini side of the council was assigned to follow and monitor the work progress and accomplishments of the council.
Concluding the meeting, the members emphasized on the importance of relaxing the procedures for obtaining a visa to Russia, and deliberated about participating in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum due to take in mid-2015.
