The month-long Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF), the biggest annual trade exposition in Bangladesh, is gaining momentum with thousands of visitors swarming to the trade show every day.
The 22nd DITF, organized by Bangladesh's Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) and the Ministry of Commerce, was inaugurated on Jan. 1 in capital Dahka by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
There are 580 pavilions, mini pavilions and stalls at the fair, attracting hundreds of local and foreign organizations from about 21 countries, including India, Pakistan, China, Iran, Turkey and the United States.
Bangladesh exporters bagged orders worth 2.35 billion taka (30 million U.S. dollars) from the fair in 2016.
Organizers are expecting much higher export orders from DITF this year, considering the country's prevailing stable political and economic condition.
