
The Bahraini side of the Bahraini-Russian Joint Business Council held its first meeting, under the chairmanship of BCCI Chairman Khaled Al Moayyed.
While hailing the relations between Bahrain and Russia, the panel members proposed boosting trade and investment between both sides, describing the current volume of trade, which amounts to 138 million U.S , as below aspirations.
The committee also proposed intensifying the exchange of delegations, and benefiting from the direct flights to Moscow offered by Bahrain’s national carrier "Gulf Air".
Deputy Chairperson of the Bahraini side of the council Jawad Al Hawaj was assigned to follow up on and monitor the work progress and accomplishments of the council.
The panel members emphasised the importance of relaxing the procedures for obtaining a visa to Russia, and discussed participating in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum due to take place in mid 2015.
