
Cambodia's trade volume with foreign countries was valued at 9.75 billion U.S. dollars in the first six months of 2015, an increase of 9.5 percent from 8.9 billion U.S. dollars over the same period last year, the latest data of the Ministry of Commerce showed Friday.
From January to June this year, the Southeast Asian country exported products in equivalent to 4.13 billion U.S. dollars, up 9. 5 percent from 3.77 billion U.S. dollars over the same period last year, the data showed.
On the import, the country shipped in goods worth 5.62 billion U.S. dollars in the first half of this year, up 8.5 percent from 5. 18 billion U.S. dollars over the same period last year.
Ken Ratha, a spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce, said Cambodia exported mainly apparel and footwear, as well as some agricultural products such as milled rice, rubber and pepper, while it imported raw materials for garment and footwear, petroleum, construction materials, vehicles and daily consuming products.
Cambodia's major trading partners are Europe, the United States, China, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore and Malaysia.
