Captains Regents of Republic of San Marino, Andrea Belluzzi and Roberto Venturini, have visited the UAE Pavilion at Expo Milano 2015.
Accompanied by a high-profile delegation comprising ministers of finance, tourism, and industry, the leaders of San Marino were welcomed by Noura Mohammed Juma, UAE Consul-General in Milano, and Mubarak Al Dhaheri, Manager of the UAE Pavilion.
The Pavilion officials briefed the Regents of San Marino about the challenges the UAE faced during the early stages of its establishment and then watched a short film, ‘Family Tree', which follows a young girl, Sara, as she learns that the values and experiences of past generations can help in the quest for a sustainable future. The mini-drama highlights the scarcity of water and celebrates the role of the date palm in sustaining life in the Emirates during difficult times.
They also got an idea about the central theme of Expo 2020 in Dubai (Connecting minds, Creating the Future) and sub-themes (Sustainability, Mobility and Opportunity) and the UAE's preparations to host the international event.
Both the high-profile guests lauded the good management and organisation as well as the design of the pavilion and the interesting thematic presentations. They expressed admiration for the massive preparations to host the World Expo in Dubai, noting that it would be the best and most impressive event.
