
Prime Minister Sherif Ismail witnessed Sunday the inking ceremony of five memorandums of understanding (MoU) with the Chinese side in the scientific and educational domains.
The Chinese side was represented by Vice Premier Liu Yandong and Vice Education Minister Hao Ping, while the Egyptian side was represented by the Higher Education and Scientific Research Minister Ashraf el Sheihy.
The ceremony comes after discussions held between Ismail and the Chinese vice premier within the framework of enhancing joint cooperation in all fields especially in the education, scientific research and exchanging expertise domains.
The MoUs come as a result of the visits exchanged between the presidents of the two countries during the last phase.
The MoUs included establishing programs for exchanging Egyptian-Chinese scholarships to promote the joint relations in the field of higher education .
The Chinese side will provide 100 scholarships annually starting from 2016 till 2020, thus a total of 500 scholarships will be offered.
