
CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) Mohamed Khodeir had a meeting Monday with a visiting delegation from Shanghai Electric, a Chinese multinational power generation and electrical equipment manufacturing company.
The Chinese delegation reviewed the company’s main activities and projects carried inside and outside China in the fields of water desalination and energy generation with the use of coal.
Shanghai Electric is interested to invest in the field of solid waste power generation in the Upper Egyptian governorates of Sohag, Minya and Assiut, the delegation said.
It also welcomed the establishment of a huge plant with a capacity of 300 tons daily or several smaller plants according to the governorates’ needs.
