Egyptian Transport Minister Saad el Geyoushi discussed on Sunday with the US Export-Import Bank President Fred Hochberg promoting cooperation in the transport domain.
The minister reviewed serious steps taken by the ministry to finance transport projects via investments to ease burdens on state budget.
He talked about the transport projects that are open for investment, including the rehabilitation of railway, the implementation of the rest of metro lines and the purchase of modern locomotives.
"We can start any of these projects two months after we reach an agreement with the bank on financing terms," he said.
The US side expressed readiness to cooperate with Egypt in the transport domain, promising to study the available projects and re-coordinate with the ministry about technical and financial details
