
Investment Minister Ashraf Salman met Thursday with Finnish Ambassador to Egypt Tula Auriola and her accompanying delegation.
The meeting tackled ways of promoting investments between Egypt and Finland and increasing cooperation in the spheres of joint interest.
The meeting further tackled the projected visit of a delegation of mega Finnish companies to Egypt in June.
The delegation will group representatives of different sectors which include waste management, energy production, technical education and construction along with several other spheres.
Finland is keen on promoting economic and investment ties with Egypt, said the ambassador.
She further said that she followed up the proceedings of Egypt Economic Development Conference, held in March, and the investment opportunities which were presented.
The investment minister, for his part, pointed out to the government's efforts in promoting the private sector along with small and medium-sized companies.
He also pointed out to a number of economic indicators in the first half of the current fiscal year which showed an improvement, topped by the unemployment rate, which reached 12.9%.
