The tensions between Russia and the European Union over the crisis in Ukraine do not bar Russia from participating in Cypriot privatization. Constantinos Herodotou, privatization commissioner of the Cyprus’ government, stated this on Tuesday.
“Investment decisions are usually based on forecasts of business growth and its margins rise. We see significant interest from Russian companies, and not only from Russian companies, basing on these criteria. We are very happy with this,” he said.
Cyprus has scheduled auctions for telecommunications operator CYTA and port operator CPA for 2015 and the privatization of power company EAC for 2017.
