EU, Vietnam to discuss conclusion of trade agreement

The President of the European Commission, Jose Manuel Barroso, will pay an official visit to Vietnam on Monday and Tuesday for talks with Vietnamese leaders on relations with the 28-member European bloc.
According to a statement by the European Commission here Friday, they are expected to discuss the conclusion of the Free Trade Agreement negotiations between the EU and Vietnam.
Barroso will also discuss development cooperation and South China Sea/East Sea-related issues.
The two sides will sign an EU assistance agreement of 2.3 million euro to fund six business associations and research institutions in Vietnam.
