
Official data show Albania's export enterprises totaled more than 2,500 in number in 2015, an increase of 23.6 percent from three years ago, the Albanian Daily News newspaper reported on Saturday.
Mini companies, staffed with one to nine personnel, and small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) accounted for 95.9 percent of the total, the report said, adding that they had also played a role as active as in import during this period.
Big companies, with at least 250 employees on the payroll, accounted for merely 3.8 pecent of the export enterprises in 2015.
In 2015, exports by enterprises engaged in the manufacturing sector accounted for 80.6 percent of Albania's total export value, up 3.9 percent from 2012, said the report, citing official data.
