German FM in Iraq to provide €24m to support displaced persons

German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier arrived here Saturday to provide EUR 24 million worth of German relief aid to displaced Iraqis north of the country.
In a joint press conference with his Iraqi counterpart Hussain Al-Shahristani, Steinmeir said that the first portion of the relief aid batch will arrive soon.
After the conference, the German Foreign Minister met with Iraqi President Fuad Massum, discussing with him the political and security situation in Iraq.
