
Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Ibrahim Saif and Russian Agriculture Minister Nikolay Fyodorov signed in Moscow on Friday, protocol of the second meeting of the Joint Jordanian-Russian Ministerial Committee for Development, Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation.
The two sides agreed to cooperate in the trade, investment, energy, agriculture, transport, tourism and scientific and technical fields.
Both sides also signed a Memorandum of Understanding on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation for the years 2014-2018.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Jordan and Russia also sealed a land transport agreement and initialed an agreement on customs cooperation.
Jordan is expected to purchase 300,000 tons of wheat from Russia annually in addition to 320,000 tons of barley.
During the meeting, both sides also agreed to increase Jordan’s exports of fruits and vegetables to the Russian market.
