A Jordanian industrial delegation began on Wednesday a visit to the Republic of Romania aimed at enhancing economic and investment relations between the two countries.
The delegation, chaired by director of Jordan Small And Medium Enterprises Industrial Association (Jordan SMEs), Nidal Samaeen, will hold several meetings with Romanian officials to discuss ways to develop the economic and trade relations, and will also brief the Romanian business community about investment opportunities in the Kingdom.
This, Samaeen said, will help the Romanian businessmen to take advantage of the policy of cooperation with the private sector which can contribute in major infrastructure projects to be carried out in Jordan in various economic sectors.
Samaeen also stressed the importance of enhancing mutual exports, and said Jordan's exports to the European nation amounted to JD13 million compared to JD110 million worth of imports.
It is noteworthy that the number of small and medium enterprises operating in the Kingdom reached over 12,000 and accounted for about 180,000 jobs with an annual export volume of JD3 billion.
