Kenyan government will take firm action against any foreign recruitment agency contravening the temporary ban on domestic labor export to Middle East and the Gulf region, the KBC reported on Monday.
Kenyan Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed and her Labor counterpart Kazungu Kambi said Monday that the ban remains in force until the labor export market is regulated.
Speaking during the inauguration of a taskforce formed to review foreign employment and labor migration policies, the two CSs said that the taskforce has three months to conclude its work and submit a report that will capture the reasons for increased migration to the Middle East and the Gulf region as well as the rising cases of mistreatment of Kenyan workers in the region.
The taskforce will be chaired by Donald Kipkorir.
