Bosnian Federal Prime Minister Nermin Niksic praised here on Thursday the role of the State of Kuwait that has always been supportive of Bosnia and Herzegovina in times of adversity, referring to the Kuwaiti assistance to those affected by floods in the country last May.
During his meeting with the Kuwaiti ambassador here Naser Al-Mutairi, the Bosnian official added that Bosnia and Herzegovina has become accustomed to the Kuwaiti noble humanitarian attitudes towards Bosnia and Herzegovina and its people.
Niksic praised the role of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) in support of infrastructure projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina, referring to the Fund's contribution in financing the highway, which will connect Bosnia and Herzegovina with the rest of the Western European countries, hence, benefiting the country's local economy.
He confirmed that this highway project is the largest and most ambitious since the declaration of independence of the Bosnian state 20 years ago, highlighting the positive impact of this contribution in local quarters.
Niksic congratulated the Ambassador on the occasion of the United Nations' naming of His Highnes the Amir as a "Humanitarian Leader" and the State of Kuwait as a "Humanitarian Center".
On his part, Al-Mutairi expressed hope that the Kuwaiti contributions would help in assisting the Government of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its people to overcome the challenges faced by the country.
