
Kuwaiti Ambassador to Cambodia Dhirar Nasser Al-Tuwaijri laid the cornerstone of some humanitarian charitable projects in the capital Phnom Penh and the provinces of Kandal and Takeo, at a total cost of about USD 1.7 million.
The ambassador Al-Tuwaijri, in a telephone statement to KUNA, has affirmed that Kuwait plays a leading role for the charitable work worldwide, lauding the national charities, humanitarian associations and authorities, especially Kuwait Zakat House, for their perseverance in improving the lives of others in need.
The Kuwaiti charitable work, has been since a long time ago, one of the pillars of diplomatic work. This policy has prompted the United Nations to designate His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as "Humanitarian Leader" and the State of Kuwait as "Humanitarian Center," Al-Tuwaijri said.
