
Kuwait's crude oil exports to China in 2016 grew 12.9 % from the previous year on daily basis to 16.34 million tons, equivalent to around 327,000 barrels per day (bpd), government data showed.
In December alone, Kuwait exported 351,000 bpd to the world's second-largest oil consumer, down 15.2 % from a year earlier, according to data released by the Kuwait's General Administration of Customs.
China's overall crude oil imports in the whole year of 2016 totaled 7.63 million bpd, marking a new record high with a 13.2 % growth from 2015.
Its December imports also registered an all-time monthly high of 8.61 million bpd.
Russia was China's top supplier in December, with its shipments increasing 4.8 % to 1.19 million bpd, followed by Oman with 885,000 bpd bpd, up 19.7 %. Saudi Arabia became third, plunging 20.0 % to 846,000 bpd.
Angola ranked fourth and Iraq fifth, respectively.
