
Lebanon and Russia signed here on Wednesday a cooperation protocol to boost their bilateral economic and trade relations.
The deal was inked by head of the Russian Federal Agency on Technical Regulation and Metrology Alexey Abramov and Lebanon's Trade and Economy Minister Alain Hakim, National News Agency (NNA) reported.
Following the signing, Abramov stressed the importance of boosting trade exchanges between Lebanon and Russia.
The deal was reached at the end of the third meeting of the Lebanese-Russian governmental committee, which was held in Beirut.
The committee aims to boost the relations between the two countries and enhance investments in various sectors.
The trade volume between Russia and Lebanon reached, according to the latest statistics, 900 million U.S. dollars annually.
