
The money worth around 3 million euros (3.19 million U.S. dollars) was robbed from transporting vehicles of a second tier bank in Albania near Tirana International Airport on Thursday, the Bank of Albania told media on Friday.
Meantime, the state police said in a press conference that six employees of the private security company responsible for the money transport were arrested while the license of the company has been revoked.
The thieves, armed and masked, pulled over the two vehicles transporting money, the police said in a press release.
Such heist took place at Tirana-Rinas road axis at 1 p.m.. Although there were many witnesses, the perpetrators couldn't be identified as they had masks.
Investigations are going on to identify the perpetrators.
