Iran's President Hassan Rouhani voiced his administration's determination to boost the country's economy based on development plans, and announced that Iran has overcome recession and is moving forward with an acceptable economic growth rate now.
Addressing a large crowd of people on Saturday, President Rouhani said that the inflation rate in Iran will be reduced to lower than 20 percent this year.
The Iranian year ends on March 20, 2015.
He vowed that with support of the nation and guidelines of the Supreme Leader, the government will take major strides.
"In economy, domestic and foreign policy, culture and social issues, we have reached a point that was probably unbelievable last year," the president said.
He noted that all the achievements so far have been reached in the light of national unity.
Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei in a message on the occasion of Nowruz on March 21 called the new Iranian year as "The Year of Economy and Culture with National Determination and Jihadi Management".
In August, Iranian Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs Ali Tayyebnia expressed satisfaction in the positive rate of economic growth in the country in the first 3 months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-June 22).
Tayyebnia said that estimates for the gross national product indicate that economic growth in the first three months of current year was positive.
