China's bilateral trade with Russia climbed by 0.7% to $5.59 billion in April, China's General Administration of Customs data published Sunday indicated.
Chinese exports climbed by 4.4% to $2.7 billion from April 2015, while imports from Russia declined by 2.8% to $2.89 billion, the data showed.
First-quarter figures announced on April 13 demonstrated 3.6% growth in Russian-Chinese trade at $14.2 billion.
Year-on-year, trade volume between the countries fell by 28.6% to $68.06 billion in 2015. In March, Russia's trade envoy to China told Russia's (Sputnik) News Agency he expected bilateral trade between the two neighbouring nations to recover from the slide and grow this year.
China's total trade also fell in 2015 as the yuan lost value and the country's economic growth slowed down to the lowest rate in over 25 years, prompting the national government to announce economic reforms.
