
Russian parliament’s lower house State Duma plans to consider a bill in autumn session to increase compulsory assortment of Russian food in retail networks to 70%, said member of a Duma committee.
Another initiative on the autumn agenda is the bill aimed to bolster Russian horticulture. The Western sanctions would give impetus to another surge in Russian agriculture development, said Oleg Valenchuk who is also chairman of the Russian union of horticulturists.
It was time to stop the situation, where the West was choking Russian producers with dumping, sometimes supplying low-quality products at that, he added.
