Shahristani, Belarus FM discuss strengthen economic and trade relations

Deputy Prime Minister for Energy, Hussain al-Shahristani discussed with Foreign Minister of Belarus, Vladimir Makei and his accompanying delegation, ways to strengthen economic relations between the two countries.
Shahristani stressed, during the meeting, according to a statement his office that "Iraq needs international military support to arm its armed forces and Belarus could contribute in this area," adding, "We also need to rebuild the infrastructure destroyed by these terrorist gangs."
Shahristani expressed his thanks to McKay on his visit in this circumstance that Iraq is going through because it combats a fierce attack of extremist terrorist gangs.
The statement noted that the two sides discussed ways to strengthen economic relations between the two countries, especially in the agriculture, industry, trade and construction and reconstruction sectors. "
For his part, Foreign Minister of Belarus confirmed that "his visit to Iraq aims to strengthen relations in all fields, especially economic in the long term," noting that " Belarus supports Iraq in its fight against terrorism and has a willingness to assist it in security contacts system and in the field of the development of the agriculture sector" .
