Singaporean company Hyflux’s move to establish a power generation and a water desalination station in the Suez Canal Economic Zone was a good message to investors inside and outside of Egypt, Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) Ahmed Darwish said.
Hyflux, one of the world’s largest water desalination companies, had signed a letter of intent to establish the two stations at a cost of half a billion dollars.
Speaking to MENA about the outcome of his visit to Paris, Darwish said it was important to familiarize investors there with the Suez Canal Economic Zone, its promising investment chances and governing legal framework.
He said he held 24 meetings with major French investment companies and extended an invitation to French investors to make field visits of the economic zone.
