Prime Minister of Tanzania Mizengo Pinda commended Kuwait's contributions to his country's growth and development as he met here on Wednesday with Kuwait's ambassador to Tanzania.
The Prime Minister considered the opening of an embassy of Kuwait in his country in the city of Dar es Salaam a further step in the two nations' closer ties, a statement by the embassy obtained by KUNA said.
It further said that the Kuwaiti ambassador Jassim Al-Najim had submitted his credentials to Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete last Feb. 18 as the first resident envoy of Kuwait to Tanzania.
Pinda expressed gratitude to the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development for funding a number of development projects that deal with ameliorating the lives of ordinary citizens of Tanzania, as these projects improve road conditions and availability of water.
Ambassador Al-Najim praised bilateral relations and looked forward to more cooperation on infrastructure projects in Tanzania.
