Turkish exports in February were up 5.8 percent when compared to the same month last year. Turkey's statistics authority, TurkStat, on Friday announced that Turkish exports in February were worth 12.4 billion USD. In February, Turkish imports were up 9 percent when compared to the same period last year. TurkStat said that Turkish imports in February were worth 19.3 billion USD. Foreign trade deficit in February increased 15.2 percent and reached a value of 6.9 billion USD. Turkish exports to the EU in February went up 3.5 percent when compared to the same month last year. Most of Turkish exports in February went to Germany and Turkey earned 1.08 billion USD from such exports to Germany. In February, most of the imports to Turkey came from Russia and Turkey paid 2.01 billion USD to Russia for the imports.
