Trade and Industry Minister Mounir Fakhri Abdel Nour will Thursday launch a twinning project between the Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC) and the EU meant to build EGAC institutional skills to meet international standards.
The project will be launched as part of a conference that will group Egyptian producers and officials in charge of standard tests to post them on requirements of the European market and steps they should take for their products to tap those markets, said CEO of EGAC Hany el Desouqi on Tuesday.
Egyptian and foreign experts taking part in the conference will provide detailed explanations about approaches of the EU market and steps toward an easier trade exchange between Egypt and the pan-European body, Desouqi said.
The twinning project, he added, will allow for an EU recognition of all EGAC-issued certificates, which will greatly contribute to an increased flow of Egyptian exports to European markets without any obstacles.
Egyptian products will obtain international-certified reports in less time and at lower cost, Desouqi noted.
