
Ukraine's inflation in May eased to a 6-month low on slower growth of prices for basic commodities, official data showed on Friday.
The country's State Statistics Service said in a report that in May the monthly inflation in Ukraine shrank to 2.2 percent, its lowest level since November 2014, as compared with 14 percent in April.
In May, food prices rose 2.9 percent, slowing from 4 percent in the previous month, while clothing and footwear costs were up 1 percent as compared to 4.6 percent increase in April, the report said.
Since the beginning of 2015, consumer prices in Ukraine have surged 40.1 percent, it said.
In 2014, inflation in Ukraine rose 24.9 percent, its highest level in 14 years.
