US increases aid to Lebanon over Syrian crisis

The US embassy in Lebanon said the US provided additional aid worth $93 million to help Lebanon in dealing with the fallout of the Syrian crisis.
With this funding, the total US humanitarian assistance to Lebanon since the start of the crisis reached $485 million, the embassy said.
The US on Wednesday unveiled $378 million in new humanitarian aid for the Syrian people.
Some $1.2 billion has gone towards helping more than 4.7 million people inside Syria, and $1.2 billion is going towards aid efforts for some three million refugees who are being sheltered in neighboring countries.
