
The U.S. trade deficit rose to $39.1 billion in January from a revised $39.0 billion in December, the Commerce Department said Friday. Exports rose to $192.5 billion in January from a revised $191.3 billion in December, the department's Census Bureau said. Data indicated goods were $133.8 billion in January, up from $132.7 billion in December, while services were $58.7 billion in January, up from $58.6 billion in December. Imports rose to $231.6 billion in January from a revised $230.3 billion in December, the department said. Imported goods were $193.1 billion in January, up from $191.4 billion in December. Services were $38.5 billion in January, down from $38.8 billion in December.
