
The Wali (governor) of Sennar State Engineer Ahmed Abbas has met with the visiting Chinese investment delegation, in the presence of the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation in the state Rudwan Mohamed Ahmed and other officials.
Engineer Abbas underlined strength of the relations between Sudan and China, praising China desire to establish an integrated agricultural project in the state through financing of Chinese financial institutions, welcoming Chinese investors to engage in manufacturing and marketing of cotton products, asserting that the state will extend all required guarantees and facilities to make it a success.
The Minister of Agriculture explained that the area of the project amounted to one million feddans for cotton production, stressing that the project was a real addition to the state and national economy through various economic activities to be performed which will contribute to improvement of the living standards for the people of the state.
The Chinese investor emphasized that the project would carry out production, manufacturing and marketing of cotton and work for provision of job opportunities.
