The US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) issued a decision to exempt all the US medical equipment exported to Sudan from ban imposed on it.
The decision was made after a campaign implemented in the US Congress by a Sudanese physician who owns a clinic for curing breast cancer in Khartoum, according to Al Sudani Newspaper on Monday.
The doctor said that she could not buy an essential medical equipment that helps in discovering the disease. The equipment is produced by the US General Motors company.
The Sudanese physician decided to submit a request to the OFAC to exempt her clinic from the ban.
After the campaign which kicked off in February 2014, the OFAC issued the decision.
