
The Ministry of Investment said it has mulled over a study by China's Safbon group to establish a factory in Kafr el Sheikh for recycling garbage and generating electricity.
The initial investments included in the project will hit dlrs 200 million, the ministry said in a statement Wednesday.
The meeting held at the Ministry of Investment's HQs to discuss the matter was attended by representatives of the ministries of environment, electricity as well as of Kafr el Sheikh governorate.
The Chinese delegation reviewed with the Egyptian officials details of the projects that aims to recycle daily around 1,500 tons of household waste in Kafr el Sheikh.
Minister of Investment Dalia Khorshid, for her part, said the ministry is looking forward to cooperating with all governorates and to luring foreign investments in development projects in a way that would serve the interests of each governorate.
