The Alba delegation comprising the Chairman of Alba’s Board of Directors, Mahmood Hashim Al Kooheji, Chief Executive, Laurent Schmitt, and Chief Marketing Officer, Jean Baptiste Lucas attended the LME Metals Seminar on Monday, October 3, 2011 at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, Westminster, London. The LME Metals Seminar – a key highlight of the LME Week – provided delegates with a perspective on some of the major issues facing the global metals industry in the coming year. Commenting on Alba’s participation in the LME Metals Week, the Chairman of Alba’s Board of Directors, Mahmood Hashim Al Kooheji said: “In the forty years since Alba began operations, we have appreciated the pivotal role that LME plays in regulating the price mechanism of aluminium and other non-ferrous metals, ensuring that business is conducted in an orderly manner, and protecting the interests of all those involved in the metals trade. We are confident that – as always – the LME Week will provide tremendous opportunities to learn about developments in the industry, gain insights on the challenges that the industry currently faces, examine solutions that will help the industry, and most importantly, provide networking possibilities with industry peers.” The LME Week comprises the LME Metals Seminar 2011 at the beginning of the LME Week. It will also include a range of educational seminars to introduce participants to LME and to the price risk management tools available. There will also be a range of lunch and dinner engagements as well as cocktail receptions hosted by trade associations and financial institutions.
