
Aluminium Bahrain (Alba)’s commitment to employee welfare was underpinned with the opening of the Alba Annual Camp 2011-12 on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at the campsite in Sakhir. Alba Chief Executive, Laurent Schmitt inaugurated the Alba Camp, which will remain open for the next three months and available for the use of all Alba employees. Also present at the opening ceremony were members of Alba’s Executive Management Team, Managers, Alba Labour Union and other company officials.Commenting on the opening of the Alba Annual Camp 2011-12, the company’s Chief Executive, Laurent Schmitt said: “The Alba Camp has been opened for the benefit of each and every member of our workforce whose hard work and team spirit enabled the company to be one of the top aluminium smelters in the world.Our commitment to employee welfare and satisfaction remains a top priority, and the camp is a tangible expression of appreciation to our workforce.Alba employees along with their families are invited to register for the camp. And from our part, we will be providing meals, wood for camp fire, games for children and other recreational facilities to guarantee enjoyable times for all camp visitors." The Alba Camp will be divided into two sections: eight small tents for employees and their families while the other section will include one large tent for the use of departments.Registration is on a first-come first serve basis and open for all Alba employees.
